Get your DVRs set and your tissue ready for any unexpected tears. After nearly 18 years, the Mike & Mike show is coming to an end on ESPN.
ESPN will air the last episode of Mike & Mike on Nov. 17.
But don’t worry, you’ll still be able to get your fix of both of these characters on ESPN networks each weekday morning. Just not together.
Greenberg will get his own TV show, while Golic will join longtime ESPN personality Trey Wingo for a new drive-time morning show called Golic & Wingo. It will become a full-time part of the ESPN broadcast lineup on Monday, Nov. 27, but listeners curious about the pairing will get a chance to hear the new duo together for three days, beginning Tuesday.
ESPN announced the move in an official release on Monday:
Fans will have a sneak-peek of Golic & Wingo when the duo host Mike & Mike this week from July 18 – July 20, while Mike Greenberg guest hosts The Michael Kay Show (3 – 7 p.m.) alongside Don La Greca on ESPN New York 98.7FM from July 17 – 20. Greenberg’s new TV show will premiere January 1, 2018.
The Mike & Mike radio show, which is now simulcast on telelvision, became a morning staple for many sports fans over the years. It will be interesting to see if these two can survive without one another after building their reputations as a team.
