It has been a wild and crazy Week 1 for the SEC. And there’s still some action to come when Ole Miss and Florida State kick things off on Monday night.
Tennessee barely survived its home opener against Appalachian State, Mississippi State suffered a shocking loss to South Alabama, Wisconsin knocked off LSU at Lambeau Field and Arkansas survived a scare against Louisiana Tech. That was the “bad.”
But Alabama also steamrolled Southern Cal, Texas A&M took down UCLA, Georgia took care of North Carolina and Auburn came reasonably close to knocking off Clemson. And that is just the beginning of what has the makings to be a wild SEC season, so there was some “good” to take away from the games as well.
In the midst of all the madness that was the opening Saturday of college football, ESPN college football writer Brett McMurphy unleashed a humorous set of early power rankings for the SEC:
SEC current power rankings: 1-Bama 2-Wisconsin 3-Texas A&M 4-South Alabama 5-Georgia 6-Tennessee 7- App State 8-(tie) Arkansas/La. Tech
