ESPN’s College GameDay apologizes for publicizing controversial fan signs
After receiving criticism for showing fan signs that some found offensive, ESPN’s College GameDay has promised to do a better job of selecting which signs it spotlights moving forward.
On Saturday, GameDay broadcasted and tweeted a sign from a fan in Tuscaloosa that some believed was in poor taste. GameDay received backlash for its decision to publicize the sign and on Monday, the show’s Twitter account released an apology statement.
“You never solve anything in the digital conversation by just hitting delete,” the statement read. “We apologize. We’re going to be better.”
