ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit lauded a few SEC coaches on Twitter this morning, noting how they faced pressure early in the season but then “prevailed.”

Topping his list of four was Auburn’s Gus Malzahn, who has the Tigers at 6-2 after starting the season 1-2 and then going on a five-game winning streak. Auburn topped Ole Miss 40-29 on Saturday and plays host this weekend to Auburn.
After USC’s Clay Helton, Mark Stoops of Kentucky checks in at No. 3 on Herbstreit’s list. The Kentucky coach, in his fourth season, has already matched his highest win total in Lexington.
The Wildcats started the season 0-2, but have responded with wins in four of its five games since.
Though he was not on the original list of four, Herbstreit agreed with a response, which noted that Kevin Sumlin of Texas A&M should be No. 5 on the list, saying, “Good call.”
