ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit releases College Football Playoffs prediction after Week 4
LSU is 3-0 and has beaten three quality opponents. ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit is clearly impressed by the Tigers’ start to the season, and released his College Football Playoffs prediction after Week 4 of the college season. Herbstreit ranked LSU third behind Ohio State and UCLA. The only other SEC team to crack Herbstreit’s list was Ole Miss, who was listed as the fifth-best team.
LSU and Ole Miss have been two of the bigger surprises in the SEC this season. Many thought LSU was a sleeper to win the SEC West, and Ole Miss was expected to take a step back after losing quarterback Bo Wallace.
The Rebels entered the College Football Playoff discussion after knocking off Alabama in convincing fashion on the road two weeks ago. LSU’s Leonard Fournette has put the Tigers in the national spotlight with his unprecedented start to the season.
There is plenty to determine in what is still a young college football season. LSU and Ole Miss will play in Oxford in late November. Alabama and Georgia are also still in the mix for a spot in the playoff.
Top 4 heading into 1st weekend of Oct. 1-Ohio St 2-UCLA 3-LSU 4-Michigan St. Next 2 Ole Miss Utah @CollegeGameDay
