ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit reveals new Top 4 after wild Week 3 in college football
Kirk Herbstreit is considered one on the authoritative voices in college football. So when the ESPN College GameDay analyst talks, fans usually listen.
Herbstreit has a weekly ritual of letting fans know about his Top 4 teams for the College Football Playoff shortly after games are completed each week.
After dominating Louisville, Clemson topped Herbstreit’s list on Sunday morning. Oklahoma checked in at No. 2.
Alabama, the consensus No. 1 team in the voting polls, ranks at No. 3 on the list.
Herbstreit rounds things out with Penn State at No. 4. Here’s a look at the tweet he sent out:

Many SEC fans are likely to be unhappy with Alabama being at No. 3, considering the Crimson Tide has done nothing but win games this season. Nick Saban’s team is 3-0 with a neutral-site win against Florida State, and has qualified for the College Football Playoff in each of the last three seasons.
