The nation’s No. 3 cornerback is down to three schools a few days before making his decision on National Signing Day.
Jack Jones, a five-star prospect from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, is down to Alabama, Texas A&M and USC, according to his Twitter account.
The 5-foot-11, 165-pounder told SEC Country during a U.S. Army All-American Bowl media session a few weeks ago that Alabama’s recruiting pitch is intriguing to him.
“They told me that I could play both sides of the ball, and that’s a big thing for me when I get to college,” Jones said. “They were thinking that I could be a Cyrus Jones type of player for them. That would be some big shoes to fill. I would be ready for the challenge, though.”
Jones took an official visit to Alabama on Jan. 15, Texas A&M on Oct. 2 and USC on Sept. 25. If he did commit to Alabama, Jones said he knew what the reason would be.
“The reason why I would sign with Alabama is because they’re a great program,” Jones said. “I like what Coach (Nick) Saban is doing with his kids. He develops players on and off the field. He develops kids into grown men.”
Jones will make his college decision this upcoming Wednesday.
