A five-star recruit who has been trending away from Florida eliminated the Gators from his group of finalists.
Or at least he did.
Lyndell Wilson, the nation’s No. 2 outside linebacker, announced Thursday on Twitter that he had narrowed his list down to Alabama and Georgia and will no longer visit UF this weekend due to a miscommunication between the coaches and his mother.
Less than 10 minutes after sending out the tweet, Wilson deleted it. He did not respond to text messages about the matter.
On Tuesday night, Wilson spoke positively to SEC Country about his “great” in-home visit with the Gators staff and upcoming trip to Florida. Had Wilson made it to Gainesville as planned, the chances of him signing with UF still seemed unlikely.
