Juarez, the nation’s No. 2 outside linebacker from Torrance, Calif., announced through his Twitter account that Alabama is now in the mix with Ole Miss and UCLA.
Perhaps the biggest reason for the addition of the Crimson Tide is the fact that he has an official visit set up to Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Jan. 22. He took a trip to visit Ole Miss back in November. The trip to Alabama is his final scheduled visit. He has not taken an official visit to UCLA at this time.
During the week of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, he told us what he liked about UCLA and Ole Miss.
On UCLA: “(Head coach) Jim Mora is always contacting me. (Linebackers coach) Scott White and I, we have a really good relationship. I’m still considering them because I can come in as an early enrollee and possibly start at the position Myles Jack was playing. And they’ll give me an opportunity to run the ball on offense.”
On Ole Miss: “Hugh Freeze is a great coach. I love that guy. He’s an awesome guy to talk to. Other coaches like (assistant coach Corey) Batoon, (assistant coach Dave Wommack) they’ve been talking to me. Those are great coaches to be around. And the players, too. The environment itself. The southern hospitality is amazing. I love it out there.”
He also said how Alabama could shake up his recruitment following his visit to Alabama.
“If I like Alabama, I might go to Alabama,” Juarez said. “If I don’t like Ole Miss anymore and I just lost feelings, then I’ll look at just UCLA and Alabama. It’s just how I’ll feel.”
The 6-foot-2, 231-pounder will announce his decision on National Signing Day.
