GAINESVILLE, Fla. — From one five-star cornerback to another, Florida’s Jalen Tabor made an impression this weekend on Under Armour All-American Kristian Fulton.
The first team All-SEC cornerback hosted Fulton on his official visit to UF.
“I had a good time,” Fulton said of his trip. “Jalen Tabor was a great host. Chilling with him was my favorite part of the trip. He let me know everything I needed to know.”
The Gators got the last crack at Fulton, the nation’s No. 2-ranked cornerback, who also visited Arkansas and LSU this month. His parents joined him on his trip to Gainesville.
“My mom and dad came with me and they liked Florida,” Fulton said. “I think this visit helped a lot with them.”
Would his parents let him leave Louisiana for UF?
“It would be tough, but they’ll be OK with it,” Fulton said.
Gators coach Jim McElwain told Fulton playing time is available for him in 2016.
“There’s a chance to come in and see the field,” Fulton said of their conversation. “They lost quite a few players in the secondary. He knows it’s not going to be easy to leave home, so he let me and my family know I’ll be taken care of if I go to Florida.”
The 6-foot, 177-pounder plans to announce his decision on National Signing Day.
