Auburn coach Gus Malzahn made it a priority to visit with Ahmmon Richards before National Signing Day in an attempt to get the Tigers back in the fold for the four-star receiver.
But his efforts fell short.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Army All-American chose Miami overduring his announcement ceremony at Wellington High School on ESPNU.
Richards, the No. 28 receiver in the country, was on a short list of receiver targets the Tigers were pursuing down the stretch, along with four-stars Nate Craig-Myers and Tre Nixon, who committed to Ole Miss last week.
Craig-Myers rejoined Auburn’s 2016 class.
