Jaytlin Askew has reported three offers so far, but the rising cornerback from Douglasville, Ga., is waiting on one in particular.
“Hopefully I can get a Florida offer,” Askew told SEC Country over the weekend. “Florida would be a big one for me. Out of all the offers, it would be the biggest one. Them and (Southern California) would be the biggest.”
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound junior has seen his recruitment pick up this season following his transfer to McEachern High School in the spring. He’s reported offers from Auburn, Nebraska and, most recently, Pittsburgh.
Askew said he’s been receiving plenty of attention from other marquee schools, too, including UGA and Notre Dame. He traveled to Athens, Ga., on Saturday with teammate and Bulldogs commit Bailey Hockman.
The trip marked one of several he’s taken this fall. He unofficially visited Auburn earlier this fall, and he admitted the visit was a bit underwhelming.
“Nothing really stood out for me at Auburn, but they’re still at the top for me,” Askew said. “They’re close to home.”
Askew is rated as the No. 35 player in Georgia in the Class of 2017.
