Greatest hits in the SEC: Week 7 Edition
There were plenty of gigantic hits around the SEC this weekend. Check out the biggest thumps from a pivotal week in the SEC.
South Carolina’s TJ Holloman ejected after monstrous hit
The Gamecocks were fired up all afternoon under interim coach Shawn Elliott. This hit from Holloman epitomized South Carolina’s determined effort in Saturday’s victory over Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt was in the red zone. The Commodores attempted a pass over the middle, but Holloman was having none of it. He drilled the intended wide receiver with a bone-jarring hit to disrupt the pass. This tackle prompted an ejection for targeting because of the helmet-to-helmet contact, but it was a great hit nonetheless.

Texas A&M DB drills Derrick Henry
Derrick Henry ran all over Texas A&M for 236 yards and two touchdowns, but the Aggies can at least say they thumped the tailback on one play. A&M defensive back Justin Evans sniffed out the off-tackle run, found a seam through the line of scrimmage and tagged Henry behind the line of scrimmage for a loss.
Unfortunately, Henry had done most of his damage before the hit and Alabama dominated the Aggies in a 41-23 win.
Big hit on Derrick Henry. Myles Garrett was hurt on it, however. pic.twitter.com/GEr8X7llNc

Leonard Fournette would kindly request you get off of him
Leonard Fournette is a hard man to bring to the ground. He doesn’t like being tackled, either. Florida defensive back Marcus Maye tried vigorously to grab and pull at the Heisman Trophy candidate. Fournette instead swatted him away like a bug with a “Falcon-Punch”of a stiff arm.

Fournette might take every tackle personally.
