The SEC might be the best conference in college football, but it doesn’t appear oddsmakers believe they’ll have the best player in 2017. Bovada released their early 2017 Heisman odds, and while six SEC players made the list, they’re all squished into the middle of the pack.
Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts leads the way for the Southeastern Conference tied for the sixth-best odds to win the prestigious trophy awarded to the nation’s best college football player.
He’s followed closely by teammate Bo Scarbrough and LSU running back Derrius Grice. Reigning winner Lamar Jackson isn’t favored to take home the trophy for a second time, either.
