Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly and Tennessee dual-threat Josh Dobbs are no longer serious Heisman Trophy contenders, according to the latest odds released this week.
Kelly’s Rebels and Dobbs’ Vols both lost on Saturday, leaving Alabama’s Jalen Hurts and Texas A&M’s Trevor Knight as the only SEC players who still have a real shot at the award, per the bookies. Hurts and Knight will go head-to-head in Week 8, as the Tide and Aggies are set to clash in Tuscaloosa under the national spotlight.
Hurts has jumped all the way up to No. 6 on the leaderboard after he accounted for 275 total yards and 3 rushing touchdowns in Alabama’s thrashing of Tennessee.
Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson is still the heavy favorite, with 1/2 odds, followed by Clemson’s Deshaun Watson (4/1) and Ohio State’s JT Barrett (8/1).
