D’Andre Christmas-Giles made a splash on New Year’s Eve by releasing an SEC-heavy top five.
Well, that top five has ballooned back up to a top 10.
The highly coveted SEC defensive tackle target announced that South Carolina, LSU, Texas, TCU, Ole Miss, Florida, Arkansas, Miami, Texas A&M and Tulane are his top 10 schools.
The schools are listed in no particular order.
Last week, South Carolina, LSU, Texas, TCU and Ole Miss originally cracked his top five.
Additionally, Christmas-Giles noted he is “still wide open” and that he will narrow down his list to three on the morning of National Signing Day (Feb. 3).
Christmas-Giles has already taken official visits to TCU (Dec. 4) and Texas (Dec. 12).
“My future is extremely important to me,” Christmas-Giles said. “This is by far the toughest decision I have to make. I just want to make the right choice.”
The 6-foot-3, 290-pound defensive tackle decommitted from Tennessee in December as his recruitment began to pick up, particularly as he picked up offers from SEC schools. LSU, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas and Texas A&M were among the many schools to take notice of the St. Augustine High School (New Orleans) standout.
Soon after he reopened his recruitment in December, Christmas-Giles told SEC Country he was honored to receive the offer from LSU, but a bit confused why it took the Tigers so long to extend an offer his way.
“It meant a lot,” Christmas-Giles said, “but I didn’t know why they came after most schools when I’m right down the street from LSU. It meant a lot to me. They’re a great school.”
Christmas-Giles also told SEC Country he will announce his decision on National Signing Day.
Christmas-Giles is rated as Louisiana’s No. 22 player and the nation’s No. 40 defensive tackle.
