College football fans look forward to the slate of games each week, especially after a long offseason of no gridiron action. There are games, though, that people have had scheduled on their calendar for some time now.
SI.com recently rated the top 10 games to watch in the 2017 college football season, and to no surprise, the SEC has multiple battles listed.
Alabama’s season opener against Florida State in the brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium will highlight Labor Day weekend as both the Crimson Tide and Seminoles have the talent to be playing in the same stadium in January in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
A week later, Georgia will travel to South Bend and play in front of Touchdown Jesus as they take on Notre Dame. The Bulldogs are loaded with talent in the backfield with the return of running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel along with quarterback Jacob Eason. Notre Dame should be a tough test for a Bulldogs team that has eyes on returning to national prominence.
The third and last game listed involving SEC teams is the annual Iron Bowl, which will take place at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn this season. While Alabama has won three straight since the famous “Kick Six” in 2013, the Tigers might have their best all-around team since 2010.
