Maybe Jimbo Fisher really does like it at Florida State, after all.
Days after there was speculation that LSU wanted to lure Fisher and fire Les Miles — before he ultimately turned the Tigers down — the Florida State coach told Mike Bianchi on 96.9-FM in Orlando he’s not going anywhere.
“I’m staying right here at Florida State,” Fisher said, according to Bianchi.
After LSU decided to keep Miles, the attention on Fisher returned when UGA fired Mark Richt on Sunday. Fisher, who spent 13 seasons as an assistant in the SEC with LSU and Auburn, is 68-13 in six seasons at Florida State.
He won a national title in the 2013 season, ending the SEC’s streak of eight straight championships. He’s also won the ACC three times, and is 11-1 against chief rivals Florida and Miami.
