The penultimate Associated Press Top 25 poll of the regular season is out and two SEC teams made the cut and sit back-to-back.
Kentucky (23-8, 13-5 SEC) soared six spots to No. 16, and Texas A&M (24-7, 13-5 SEC) rose three spots to No. 17.
The Wildcats concluded the regular season with impressive victories over Florida and LSU last week and clinched a share of the SEC’s regular-season title. However, Kentucky will be the No. 2 seed in the SEC Tournament after losing the head-to-head tiebreaker to Texas A&M in an overtime thriller two weeks ago.
The Aggies got back into the top 20 after capping the regular season on a six-game winning streak. Texas A&M won its first regular-season conference championship in 30 years and will be the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. The Aggies appear to be back on track as the postseason arrives.
