Give it up for Lane Kiffin, everybody. The former Alabama offensive coordinator, and now Florida Atlantic head coach, earned his first victory with his new team on Saturday night, as the Owls beat Bethune-Cookman 45-0.
Kiffin’s tenure at FAU didn’t get off to a particularly great start in 2017, losing 42-19 to Navy in Week 1, and 31-14 to Wisconsin in Week 2. But on Saturday, they were able to get something in the win column against an overmatched Bethune-Cookman team.
It was Florida Atlantic’s rushing attack that led the way, as the Owls racked up a ridiculous 439 yards rushing on 58 carries. Two Owls, Gregory Howell Jr. and Devin Singletary, rushed for over 100 yards each.
