This is former LSU coach Les Miles’ first year in the broadcasting booth, and the results have been … interesting.
On Saturday, Miles was assigned to provide commentary on the Northern Illinois-Nebraska game on FS1.
Miles repeatedly broke a cardinal rule of national broadcasting by continuously rooting for the Cornhuskers — his son Ben plays at Nebraska — and using the term “we” when discussing the team.
The good people at Deadspin put together a collection of Miles’ most-biased moments, including when Miles said, “We need this drive to produce points,” speaking from the perspective of a Nebraska fan.
FS1 play-by-play announcer Tim Brando did his best to correct Miles but had little success.
To be fair, Miles should know this is inappropriate, but FS1 probably shouldn’t have assigned him to a Nebraska game in the first place, considering his family ties.
