There are eight days until National Signing Day. SEC coaching staffs are working around the clock to shore up their commitments, shake a few loose from other programs and convince those players still undecided to choose their school.
A 5-star rating is not a guaranteed indicator of success, but it is a good starting point when evaluating a prospect. 247Sports has identified 30 5-star players in the 2017 class, and, as of now, the SEC will get 10 of them.
Half of those are heading to Alabama, two are slated to become Georgia Bulldogs, and LSU, Auburn and Tennessee each have a 5-star recruit in the class.
Here is the complete list of 5-star prospects committed — or already on campus — at SEC schools:

Not only does Alabama have the most 5-star recruits in the class but it also has all five of those players on campus.
Running back Najee Harris, tackle Alex Leatherwood, linebacker Dylan Moses, receiver Jerry Jeudy and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa already are enrolled. The Tide could line up another 5-star or two, including defensive end LaBryan Ray, on National Signing Day.
Richard LeCounte III, a safety from Hinesville, Ga., already is enrolled. Tackle Isaiah Wilson is set to join him in Athens in the fall.
The Bulldogs are still in the hunt to land in-state defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon, but they will need to overtake Michigan and Alabama.
Safety JaCoby Stevens is already on campus in Baton Rouge as the Tigers’ lone 5-star prospect in this class. They are working hard to land another one: tackle Marvin Wilson.
Tackle Calvin Ashley is the only 5-star recruit in Auburn’s recruiting haul thus far, though some services have JUCO quarterback Jarrett Stidham rated that highly.
Jackson, Tenn., tackle Trey Smith is already in Knoxville, so the Volunteers’ lone 5-star recruit will be on hand for spring practice.
