Florida A&M started things in a weird way Thursday.
Early during the Arkansas-Florida A&M game in Little Rock, the Rattlers were penalized for wearing illegal jerseys because they don’t include contrasting numbers. (Yes, apparently this is a thing.) As relayed by SEC Network’s Tom Hart, Florida A&M will lose a timeout each quarter it wears the uniforms.
FAMU will be penalized for wearing illegal jerseys. No contrasting numbers. Will lose a TO each quarter.

What a bizarre situation. This gaffe seems so avoidable, right?
You would think Florida A&M might glance at the rule book before coming up with its uniform scheme. But it’s obvious there was an oversight in this department.
Memo to other teams out there: Wear contrasting numbers.
