LSU is rolling out the red carpet for South Carolina this weekend.
The university flew the Gamecocks into Baton Rouge, La., with its own United Airlines charter plane and welcomed South Carolina with a barbecue lunch upon arrival on Friday.
LSU has done its best to make the Gamecocks feel at home this weekend after South Carolina was forced to move the game from Columbia, S.C,. to Baton Rouge after devastating floods ravaged the area last week.
LSU will give South Carolina the keys to Tiger Stadium in a ceremony involving student government representatives from both schools before the game, and also host a tailgate with free food and drinks for fans at the LSU Parade Grounds.
The Tigers marching band will also play South Carolina’s alma mater and fight song during its pregame show. Finally, LSU will blare the song “Sandstorm” before Saturday’s kickoff to pay homage to a South Carolina pregame tradition.
No matter the outcome of the game, LSU’s generosity is what Southern hospitality is all about.
