Four-star quarterback Feliepe Franks announced late Monday evening that he has de-committed from LSU.
“For about a month now I have been talking with LSU about de-commiting,” Franks tweeted out .”I have given this process a lot of thought and feel that is only best for me to make my de-commitment public. I want to thank the LSU coaches, staff and the amazing fans for all of their support.”
The news does not come as a total surprise. Franks, who had been committed to LSU since June, has visited Florida the last two weekends and had been rumored to be a possible candidate to back away from his pledge.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound senior from Crawfordville, Fla., will return to Gainesville this weekend for Florida’s season finale against Florida State. According to 247Sports.com’s Crystal Ball predictions, 50 percent of projections peg Franks signing with the Gators.
