LSU received some unexpected good news Wednesday morning.
Four-star safety commit Cameron Lewis announced he will no longer take an official visit to TCU over the weekend.
The 6-foot-1, 192-pound prospect out of Wossman High School (Monroe, La.) is expected to have in-home visits from both LSU coach Les Miles and Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin on Wednesday.
Lewis officially visited LSU on the weekend of Jan. 15, and then last weekend took an official visit to College Station, Texas.
The fact that the nation’s No. 12 safety canceled his final official visit is encouraging news for the Tigers, though LSU is not out of the woods just yet with Texas A&M making its final push to poach the highly-touted prospect.
With one week left before National Signing Day, LSU is seemingly in good shape to hold onto Lewis, who is one of two safety commits in the Tigers’ 2016 class.
