LSU’s Dwayne Thomas looking forward to turnovers from Auburn QB
LSU defensive back Dwayne Thomas continued the smack talk heading into Saturday’s tilt against Auburn with some candid remarks about Auburn quarterback Jeremy Johnson.
“We know that this guy, if we play our technique right, if we do the fundamentals and have our eyes in the right place, he should be able to throw us one — if not, hand it to us,” Thomas told ESPN’s David Ching. “This quarterback has a great arm, but we don’t know how accurate he is because we haven’t seen him in person. With the tight coverage that we play, we’re looking forward to him giving us a few.”
Johnson has been sloppy through the first two games of the season. He’s thrown five interceptions already, most of which have been pretty egregious.
LSU did not force any interceptions last week out of Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott. The Tigers had 10 interceptions in 2014.
Auburn safety Rudy Ford started the war of words on Tuesday when he told reporters that stopping LSU running back Leonard Fournette would not be a challenge for his defense.
