Don’t mess with Mack Brown’s schedule.
Brown was part of the crew covering BYU’s wild 55-53 victory against Toledo on Friday night. The contest ended at about 2:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, but Brown wasn’t there to see the whole thing through.
Brown had work commitments in Connecticut on Saturday, so he had a long flight ahead of him. Apparently, he had no desire to stay for the conclusion of the event in Provo, Utah. Play-by-play announcer Adam Amin and sideline reporter Molly McGrath finished things up.
“We’re talking about some games you might want to go see, and apparently Mack’s got to leave us right now otherwise you’re not going to see this shining face on your TV tomorrow,” Amin said on the broadcast. “We’re going to miss you, pal. You sure you don’t want to stick around for the rest of this thing?”
“You’ve been working on (copying) my voice, so maybe you can be me and you, and Molly can help,” Brown said.
You can hear the exchange in the clip below. You don’t see that too often, right?
