Saturday marks the first game of the Mark Richt era at Miami. And of course, he has deal with a player getting arrested the night before.
Freshman quarterback Tucker Beirne was arrested on DUI and cocaine charges in Monroe County, Fla.
Per WPLG, Beirne was arrested at a traffic stop. The freshman quarterback was not expected to play in the Hurricanes’ game against Florida A&M.
RIcht comes to Miami following a very successful stint at Georgia, where he became the second winningest coach in school history. But Richt was unable to win a championship, and after 10 seasons without an SEC title, Richt parted ways with the school.
Last week, Richt had to dismiss two defensive players after they violated NCAA rules. The “Mark Richt has lost control” jokes just continue to write themselves.
