With fellow College Football Playoff contenders Michigan, Ohio State and Louisville all struggling to beat unranked opponents this weekend, Alabama’s chances of winning the national title improved over its bye week, according to the books.
The Crimson Tide are now 3/2 favorites to repeat in January, ahead of Clemson (5/1) and the one-loss Buckeyes (5/1). Michigan, Louisville and Washington round out to the top six competitors, all of which have at least 10/1 championship odds.
According to sportsbook.ag, Alabama would be favored by at least 9 points in title game matchups with Michigan, Ohio State, Clemson, Washington or Louisville.
A group of four SEC teams populate the next tier. LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn and Florida each have at least a 40/1 shot to come storming back into the Playoff race, and all but the Aggies have yet to play Alabama this season.
Tennessee came off the board following a massively disappointing road loss to South Carolina on Saturday.
