Can you imagine Myles Garrett and O.J. Howard as teammates?
Two NFL.com writers say the players would be the “perfect pair” for the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the upcoming NFL draft.
Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks tabbed the former Texas A&M defensive end and former Alabama tight end as a possible dynamic duo to help the Browns regain relevance in the NFL. Many expect Garrett to be taken first overall when the 2017 NFL Draft begins on April 27 in Philadelphia. But in their piece, the writers call for Howard to be taken at No. 12, which would be an interesting.
Both players showcased their value this past season. Garrett finished with 33 tackles and 8.5 sacks as he built a reputation as one of the nation’s best defensive linemen. Howard had 45 catches for 595 yards with 3 touchdowns.
The countdown to the NFL draft is on, so posts like this are en vogue. Still, it would be fun to see the former SEC stars on the same roster as the Browns try to rise from the NFL’s depths. Cleveland finished a miserable 1-15 last season.
It’s clear the Browns need as much help as they can get as soon as possible. Garrett and Howard as teammates is a cool possibility to consider.
