Earlier this week, Nick Saban gave a preview of how Kirby Smart might handle two jobs at once this December.
Now, it’s time to put the plan into action.
Smart, currently employed by both the University of Alabama (defensive coordinator) and University of Georgia (head coach), will spend the “next week or 10 days” in Athens, Ga., before rejoining the Crimson Tide, according to Saban.
“I know the professional integrity that Kirby has, and the commitment that he has to our players, as well as his new job, and I feel very comfortable that he’ll be able to manage that,” Saban said.
The Alabama coach added that his cross-division rivals have been cordial.
“I think the University of Georgia’s been first class in how they’ve sorta handled this transition, and helping us both do this the way we’re gonna do it,” Saban said.
