T.J. Moore, a four-star offensive tackle in the Class of 2017, is becoming one of the most coveted prospects in the state of North Carolina. According to Scout.com, the 6-foot-5.5, 280-pounder has received offers from 14 schools—including a pair of SEC teams.
At last weekend’s Nike “The Opening” regional event in Charlotte, N.C., Moore said South Carolina and Tennessee are among the programs showing him the most interest.
“I went to Tennessee two weeks ago and it was amazing,” Moore told Scout.com’s Michael Clark. “The stadium is great; (tight ends) Coach (Larry) Scott is amazing. … It was just a spring game, and the facility is just beautiful. So it was really nice.”
Moore also enjoyed a productive visit to South Carolina, where he developed a strong relationship with offensive line coach Shawn Elliott.
“He’s one of the top coaches I’ve talked to,” Moore said of Elliott. “He checks on my grades, calls my counselor, calls my coach, my teachers, making sure I’m doing good in the classroom. I talk to him at least every other night.”
Moore is the No. 6 recruit in North Carolina and the No. 31 offensive tackle in the country, according to the 247Sports composite.
