Every Sunday, SEC Country will unveil its offensive and defensive recruits of the week based on their weekend performance. In order to qualify, recruits must have at least two SEC offers.
This week’s SEC Country Offensive Recruit of the Week honors goes to Najee Harris, a 2017 running back committed to Alabama, who is from Antioch, Calif.
SEC Country’s Offensive Recruit of the Week: Najee Harris
Najee Harris got the nod for SEC Country’s Offensive Recruit of the Week honors following an impressive performance this past Friday night. The running back had 360 yards, six touchdowns and converted six two-point conversions, accounting for 48 points, according to Hank South of 247Sports.com.
The 5-star prospect committed to Alabama this past April.

QB Jacob Eason, Lake Stevens, Wash. (committed to UGA): In front of ESPN television cameras and UGA offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, the Bulldogs 5-star quarterback commit completed 13 of 20 passes for 243 yards and had five touchdowns. He also added a rushing touchdown. Eason led Lake Stevens High School (Lake Stevens, Wash.) to a 63-7 win over Kamiak High School. Lake Stevens is now 8-0 with one regular season game remaining. Eason committed to UGA in July 2014.
QB Jalen Hurts, Channelview, Texas (committed to Alabama): The 4-star quarterback threw for 268 yards and rushed for 188 yards. Like this week’s SEC Country Recruit of the Week and fellow Alabama commit, Hurts also scored six touchdowns, according to Hank South of 247Sports.com. Hurts committed to Alabama in June.
RB Ty Chandler, Nashville, Tenn. (uncommitted): The 2017 4-star running back rushed for 188 yards and scored three touchdowns, according to the Tennessean’s Cecil Joyce. Chandler holds offers from Ole Miss, Tennessee and UGA.
RB B.J. Emmons, Morganton, N.C. (committed to Alabama): Another Alabama running back commit makes the list. Emmons, a 4-star prospect from North Carolina, rushed for 307 yards and scored three touchdowns, according to Morganton.com’s Tommy Fleming. Emmons, who was once a UGA recruit, committed to Alabama in July.
ATH Jamyest Williams, Lawrenceville, Ga. (uncommitted): The nation’s No. 1 athlete in the class of 2017 had 137 rushing yards, 46 receiving yards, 75 return yards and scored two touchdowns in one half of work. He also added four tackles on defense. Williams is considering UGA, Auburn, Tennessee, Clemson, Florida State, among others.
ATH Ryan Jones, Charlotte, N.C. (uncommitted): The 4-star athlete had 122 receiving yards and scored four touchdowns, according to the Charlotte Observer’s Bill Kiser. Jones holds offers from Tennessee and Vanderbilt, among others. Tennessee is supposedly the favorite to land him. He attended Tennessee’s game this past Saturday in Alabama.
ATH Deejay Dallas, Brunswick, Ga. (committed to UGA): The 4-star athlete rushed for 221 yards and scored a touchdown. He also added 76 passing yards and a touchdown, according to Jacksonville.com’s Mike Morrison. Dallas committed to UGA this past July.
