As each week passes, one thing becomes more clear: Alabama is head and shoulders above everyone else in the SEC.
The top-ranked Crimson Tide did bad things to Tennessee on Saturday in Knoxville.
They held the No. 9 Vols to 11 first downs, 163 total yards (32 rushing yards on 32 attempts) and scored two more non-offensive touchdowns.
With that, Alabama again is No. 1 in this week’s SEC Country Power Poll, according to a vote of 20 panelists from SEC Country and around the nation.
Who’s No. 2?
Funny you should ask. That’s Texas A&M. The Aggies were off this weekend preparing for Alabama. The two play Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala. (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS).
Alabama was looking for that complete game. Maybe the 49-10 win against Tennessee was it.
“Well, we played pretty good, but I mean, we still gave up 10 points as a team,” Tide LB Shaun Dion Hamilton said. “There were some plays that we needed to correct and be better. But other than that, we played pretty good; it was a good effort. We had a big win versus a good team.”
But Week 6 wasn’t all about Alabama.
Arkansas rallied for a huge win against Ole Miss.
Vanderbilt beat Georgia. Repeat: Vanderbilt beat Georgia.
So once you get past Alabama-Texas A&M at the top, it’s a free-for-all in this week’s SEC Country Power Poll.
It’s even unpredictable at the bottom, where Vanderbilt no longer resides after several weeks at No. 14.
Check back next week for our weekly installment of the SEC Country Power Poll.
