Panthers DB Josh Norman on Ex-LSU WR Odell Beckham, Jr.’s aggressive game: “Players like that shouldn’t be in the game”
The battle between former LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., and Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman on Sunday was one for the ages. But the Panthers defensive backs were not very impressed by Beckham’s play Sunday in Carolina’s 38-35 win over Beckham and the New York Giants.
Beckham caught six passes for 76 yards and a late game-tying touchdown while matching up primarily against Norman. The ex-LSU receiver has earned plenty of praise from football fans with his thrilling, one-handed catches and incredible speed, but Norman got the best of Beckham on Sunday. After constant jousting during the game, Beckham took a dangerous shot at Norman’s head during the game.

Norman expressed his disgust with Beckham’s headshot after the game, calling the hit ridiculous that play showed “fully what he is,” according to ESPN’s David Newton.
“Players like that shouldn’t be in the game,” Norman told Newton.
Norman had some other choice words about Beckham as well, according Steve Overmyer of CBS-2 in New York.

Beckham chose not to address the hit he put on Norman and told reporters to “watch the film.”
Safety Roman Harper said the second-year wideout wasn’t that special and said he didn’t deserve special treatment.
“He’s not Superman,” Harper said to Newton.
