Many believe Alabama’s 41-30 road victory against Georgia in 2008 marked the beginning of the Nick Saban dynasty in Tuscaloosa. Seven years later, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum thinks that dynasty would end if the Crimson Tide lose to the Bulldogs in Athens on Saturday.
“I think a Georgia win here today and the Saban dynasty is over,” Finebaum said during the SEC Nation broadcast. “To me, the Alabama mystique is holding on for dear life and a Georgia win tonight would shatter that mystique.”
Alabama enters Saturday at 3-1, and the Tide cannot afford another early loss. The Tide were defeated by Ole Miss, 43-37, at home two weeks ago. A win on the road against the Bulldogs could vault Alabama back into the top 10.
