Bowl season often brings out the best in college football.
But the sheer amount of bowl games that are played leaves a lot of room for things to get weird sometimes. That’s where the Potato Bowl comes in.
The Potato Bowl is a PR gold mine. This year, former Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has been granted the honor of playing in the game against Idaho, convenient since the game is played in Boise, Idaho and sponsored by Famous Idaho potatoes.
The game comes fully stocked with a potato mascot named Spuddy Buddy (seriously) and a 30-foot, 6-ton potato.

But if that isn’t enough to get you excited to watch these two teams play, don’t worry, there’s also a ridiculous commercial to pump you up that features Spuddy Buddy and potatoes playing football.

The game actually features quite a bit of potato-themed advertising, in fact, and the winner receives a trophy filled with Famous Idaho potatoes.
