The college football season isn’t over yet, but then again it never truly stops.
Pro Football Focus released its midseason 2017 NFL Draft (six months away) board Wednesday and named 14 SEC players among its top 32. Perhaps the most impressive fact is that the top three players are all from SEC schools and so is half of the top 10 on the list.
Here’s how it shook out: Myles Garrett (1), Jonathan Allen (2), Derek Barnett (3), Jalen Tabor (7), Leonard Fournette (9), Charles Harris (11), Tim Williams (17), Carl Lawson (19), Reuben Foster (21), Nick Chubb (24), Zach Cunningham (26), Marlon Humphrey (27), Tre’Davious White (30), Jarrad Davis (31).
Garrett has proven to be one of the most prolific pass rushers in all of college football as has Barnett. Though midseason rankings also leave a lot up to interpretation between now and April. Jarrad Davis was injured last week for Florida and Nick Chubb might be higher if his season didn’t end early in 2015.
The Crimson Tide have four names on the list while Garrett, Harris, Lawson, Cunningham and Chubb are the only players from their respective schools. LSU has two players on the list in Fournette and White as does Florida in Davis and Tabor. Fournette’s status on the list may change as well as he works toward a return against Ole Miss this weekend.
