On the popular Netflix series Last Chance U, running back Isaiah Patrick-Wright became one of the more compelling characters in the show.
But on Thursday, Patrick-Wright’s life took a drastic turn. He, along with his brother Camion Patrick, who was also featured on the show in addition to being a member of the Indiana football team, were each charged with one count of criminal homicide relating to the July 25 death of an 18-year old from Maryville, Tenn., the Knoxville News-Sentinel reports.
Patrick-Wright was one of the most talented running backs in the JUCO ranks and garnered attention and offers from a number of schools, including a scholarship offer from Auburn. But injuries and a deteriorating relationship with East Mississippi Community College coach Buddy Stephens led to a fall from grace for Patrick-Wright, who ended up at West Georgia. He left the team before the 2017 school year began.
Patrick-Wright was arrested Wednesday and is expected to be transferred to the Blount County (Tenn.) jail. Patrick was taken into custody by University of Indiana campus police on Wednesday and is expected to be extradited to Blount County.
