The book hasn’t quite closed on the Class of 2016, and five-star wide receiver Demetris Robertson, who has not signed a letter of intent, is expected to arrive for an official visit to Alabama Friday, sources told BamaOnLine.
Robertson has narrowed his choices to Alabama, UGA, Notre Dame and Stanford, and he told SEC Country earlier this week that he had plans to visit Athens this weekend. He is the No. 1 receiver in the nation in the 2016 class, and the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia.
The Cardinal has been the proverbial favorite, but Robertson needs to improve his SAT score before that is a real possibility. The Irish are considered by many to be next in line to land the 5-foot-11, 175-pounder.
The Savannah Christian Prep (Savannah, Ga.) product told SEC Country that he planned to visit the Bulldogs before making his decision, so the sudden change of plans should not eliminate UGA from the conversation.
Following his trip to Alabama this weekend, Robertson will still have two official visits left, which would likely be to UGA and Stanford. Robertson still has to improve his SAT score to be allowed to take an official visit to Stanford, per the university’s policy.
