Sports fans may recognize Steve Levy as one of the longtime anchors on ESPN’s flagship program, SportsCenter. According to a report, Levy will be stepping out of the studio and entering the college football announcing booth this season.
Levy has been added to ESPN’s college football roster as a play-by-play announcer, per a report from The Big Lead’s Kyle Koster. He will be the No. 3 announcer for the network, according to Koster.
ESPN is trying to replace two of its three top broadcasters for this upcoming season after Sean McDonough was tabbed as Mike Tirico’s replacement for Monday Night Football. The network is also reportedly going to lose legendary voice Brad Nessler to CBS. Joe Tessitore, who hosted the SEC Network’s pregame show, SEC Nation, is expected to fill in as the No. 2 play-by-play announcer, according to Koster.
No matter who fills in, SEC fans should expect some new voices when they tune in to watch their teams play.
