Will Muschamp said his first order of business as the new South Carolina coach was recruiting, and thus far he’s holding true to his word.
Muschamp and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson have reached out to junior college defensive back Jamarcus King and offered him a scholarship, according to The State’s Phil Kornblut.
King will take an official visit to South Carolina this weekend, according to Kornblut.
“I feel like I can fit,” King said. “He (Muschamp) and T-Rob (Robinson) have been together for a long time and I feel like they can get something going. Coach Robinson is a great coach, great person and he’s a super personality.”
King, who committed to Auburn in June, was recruited by Muschamp, the Tigers’ former defensive coordinator.
King de-committed from Auburn in September, and has already taken officials visits there and to Arkansas. He also officially visited Baylor, and if he does take a fifth, it will be to Miami, according to Kornblut.
Arkansas will make an in-home visit to King on Tuesday, and Muschamp and Robinson are planning to do the same this weekend.
King played for Coffeyville Community College (Kan.) this past season. He’s rated as the No. 3 player in Alabama and the top cornerback in the nation.
