College football is still two months away from kicking off the 2016 season, but there are already bowl game predictions available for your consumption.
SB Nation’s Jason Kirk took the approach that it’s never too early to issue some post-season predictions, releasing his choices for every bowl game and the College Football Playoff.
He reached his conclusion by predicting the winner/loser of each FBS regular season game, and then slotting teams appropriately by conference, with some slight adjustments to simulate the College Football Playoff selection committee.
His picks for the College Football Playoff are LSU, TCU, Clemson and Michigan. That alone will make Alabama fans upset with the process.
Not only does he project the Bayou Bengals to represent the SEC in the CFP, he also projects them to play in the championship game against Clemson– the team that the Crimson Tide defeated for the national championship back in January.
But it’s not all bad news for the Crimson Tide, as Kirk projects a chance at revenge in a game against Bob Stoops’ Oklahoma Sooners at the Sugar Bowl.
In total, Kirk projects 12 SEC teams to participate in bowl games, with Kentucky and Vanderbilt as the only two teams predicted to miss out.
Here’s a look at where he slots each team to play:
