The SEC has announced security enhancements for the Dec. 3 SEC Championship football game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, and fans should pay particular attention to the bag regulations.
According to a release Tuesday from the conference, bags should be clear or small clutch bags to be permitted into the Georgia Dome for the game, which will have increased security and K-9 patrols in an around the Georgia Dome.
Enhanced security will also be in place at the Dr. Pepper SEC FanFare event in the Georgia World Congress Center, Dec. 2-3.
According to the release, here are the guidelines for bags for the championship game:
Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
Small clutch bags, no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″, with or without a handle or strap
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose
There will be Bag Exchange Stations where fans can exchange their bags for clear bags, and then retrieve their original bag after the game.
Gates at the Georgia Dome will open at 1:30 p.m. for the 4 p.m. game. Because of expected long lines, the conference states that fans not in the gate queue by 3:15 p.m. on game day should not expect to see kickoff of the game.
