The 13-team field for the 2017 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl golf challenge was revealed on Tuesday, and the SEC has plenty of opportunity to defend its title in the 11th annual charity event.
Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze, who won last season with celebrity alum Wesley Walls, will return to defend his title at Reynolds Lake Oconee outside of Atlanta from April 30 to May 3. But he won’t be the only SEC coach in attendance for the event, which raises $630,000 in scholarship and charity.
Alabama will be represented by Nick Saban and Heisman Trophy RB Mark Ingram, Auburn’s Gus Malzahn will be paired with former Tigers and NFL kicker Al Del Greco and Steve Spurrier will represent the Gators alongside his former quarterback Shane Matthews.
Former Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson will play alongside legendary Viriginia Tech coach Frank Beamer as the College Football Playoff’s representation.
Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson is the man to watch in this field, as he is a four-time winner alongside celebrity partner Jon Barry.
Here’s a complete look at the field of competitors, which also includes football national champion coach Dabo Swinney and men’s basketball national champion coach Roy Williams:
