The city of Houston loves it some SEC.
Despite being nestled in Big 12 country and home of the up-and-coming Houston Cougars, the SEC dominated the Houston TV market last season. The conference claimed nine of the top 20 most-viewed games in the market, and the top three overall.
Houston and Big 12 contests followed with 20 percent of the top viewership.

Alabama-Texas A&M led the way with an 8.5 rating, while Alabama-Florida (8.5) and Alabama-LSU (8.2) were next on the list. The highest-rated non-SEC matchup was the AAC Championship game between Houston and Temple.
Based on the numbers tweeted out by Fox 26’s Mark Berman, the Aggies seem to have a strong following in Houston, being featured in four of the top 20 games. A strong year from transfer quarterback Trevor Knight could boost those numbers and have both the Aggies and SEC booming in Space City this fall.
