The Kentucky Wildcats were predicted to win the SEC by the media at SEC basketball media days this week.
It was the 12th time since 1998 that the Wildcats were picked to win the conference. Arkansas forward Moses Kingsley was named preseason SEC player of the year.
Florida, Texas A&M and Georgia round out the top four in the preseason poll.
Kentucky earned two first-team all-SEC selections (De’Aaron Fox and Edrice “Bam” Adebayo) and two second-team selections (Isaiah Briscoe and Malik Monk).
The Wildcats’ four all-SEC selections were the most of any school in the league. Georgia had the second-most selections with two in J.J. Frazier and Yante Maten. Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt each had one.
