It’s swan song week for SEC Memes.
What better way to go out than with a slew of memes skewering Georgia and its infamous second-and-26 versus Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game?
Second-and-26 is just one of the terms we’ve gotten to know and love over the last two years of this column. Many of them were produced by a man we’ll honor at the bottom of this post.
This column would not have been possible without the good folks over at the Facebook page SEC Throwdown. They might be ruthless when it comes to each other’s favorite SEC teams, but their 5-star hearts and passion are undeniable. For that, I’d like to thank everyone who’s contributed over the years (deep breath …)
Alex Armuelles, Hunter Arnold, Greg Baird-Kelly, Jonathan Barber, Chris Baugh, Dale Beavers, Jamie Beckler, Brandon J. My apologies to anyone we missed.
Stay on ya grind, y’all.
ME MEMES & THANK YOU
I’ve become come quite close with the members of the Facebook page SEC Throwdown over the course of writing this column every Friday for the last two years. These guys are the SEC, as far as I’m concerned. I asked them for a meme war this week and they responded in true SEC Throwdown fashion … by roasting me. Thank you, everyone.
And thank you, SEC Country for the opportunity to hopefully make you laugh heading into your weekend.
Lastly, we’d be remiss to forget the man who single-handedly inspired more memes than any other human being in SEC history. Each week, brick by brick and 5-star heart by 5-star heart, this life champion unified this weekly column and kept it going during the dog days of the offseason. Butch Jones never rests, and for that we are forever grateful for the former Tennessee coach and sincerely wish him the best.
