Amid extensive flooding in the Columbia, S.C., area, SEC Network announced its decision to relocate this week’s broadcast of SEC Nation to Knoxville, Tenn., for Saturday’s game between Tennessee and No. 19 UGA. The program had originally scheduled South Carolina-LSU as its Week 6 stop, but network executives felt that the show’s celebratory atmosphere would be inappropriate given the circumstances.
“Our hearts go out to the South Carolina community as they recover from the devastating floods,” said Stephanie Druley, ESPN’s senior vice president of college networks production, in a statement. “We look forward to returning to South Carolina at a better time.”
SEC Nation will now set up in front of Tennessee’s Ayres Hall on “The Hill,” starting at 10 a.m. ET.
